Modular Apartments

This three-story apartment building design is comprised of 30 modular components. Tenants can access the building by using a staircase located in the front or through the courtyard from the rear parking lot.

Bright red accents on the balconies, courtyard windows, and rear staircase give the apartment building a modern and sleek exterior.

The courtyard, located in the center of the two sections of the building, creates ease of access and provides a space for residents and guests to gather outdoors.

These modular apartments would offer amazing city views and be an integral part of the redevelopment occurring in this neighborhood.

Community Housing for LMS Investment Management

CCR has worked with LMS Investment Management to master plan and design multiple build-to-rent housing communities that include one, two, and three-bedroom townhomes and cottages.

Through walkability, upscale amenities, and beautiful landscaping, these communities were designed to create a true sense of home among residents.

From site plans and renderings to the final product, CCR has provided master planning, architectural, signage planning and design services, and construction administration services for several communities that are in various stages of completion.

Allier Port Wentworth

Allier Foley

Containing a total of 134 units, a clubhouse, and multiple parks, this community is currently under construction in Foley, Alabama.

Theatre Lofts

This Historic Tax Credit-funded renovation combined the Graves building and Robert & Sons building to create 46 unique one and two-bedroom luxury loft apartments.

Located in the heart of the Theatre District, the renovated building is adjacent to the Lyric Theatre and directly across the street from the Alabama Theatre – two of Birmingham’s premier performing arts venues.

The design incorporates the history of the area and of the building itself – creating unique apartments that combine clean, modern style and historical design elements.

The design team included as many of the original building elements as possible to add texture to the space and maintain the building’s historic character.

Beadboard ceilings, exposed brick walls, and original windows, doors, tile, and floors add warmth to the sleek, modern interiors.

Theatre Lofts provides a high-end, mature option for those looking to live in an apartment surrounded by downtown activity and culture.

20 Midtown

20 Midtown is a mixed-use development that connects UAB and the City Center with ground-floor retailers such as Starbucks, Chipotle, and Publix, and includes parking, apartments, and amenities above.

The complex includes 436 apartments ranging from micro to three-bedroom units and was completed in two phases.

  • LocationBirmingham, AL
  • Project Type
  • Size 982,500 SF
  • Building 1 36 Units
  • Building 2 75 Units
  • Building 3 325 Units

Phase I consists of Building 1 and 2—a combined 111 units—retail space and parking.

The ground floor retail spurs activity on the street while hiding parking behind and above. The apartments and rooftop terrace give a terrific view of the city skyline and Red Mountain.

The design is sleek—using metal panels, zinc, concrete, and stucco to blend the various uses and define the layers of public and private spaces.

Phase II (Building 3) consists of 325 micro to three-bedroom units with retail, restaurants, parking, and amenities.

The interiors are comfortable and modern with high-quality, neutral finishes in the units and bold, bright colors in the public spaces.

With ground floor retail, gathering spaces, a fitness center, and a pool deck, amenities are key to this phase of the development. The amenity deck serves the entire complex and includes the development’s pool, bocce courts, green space, outdoor grilling, and hammocks.

The Heights Clubhouse

The clubhouse at The Heights, a non-traditional rental community offering luxury single-family homes and townhomes for lease, is a lifestyle-enhancing amenity for the community’s residents.

It houses the leasing office for The Heights and serves as the main gathering space and heart of the community.

The interiors, completed in collaboration with Catori Design House, are light-filled, functional, and a blend of traditional and modern style.

With a fitness center, kitchen, lounge area, and resort-style pool, the clubhouse offers a place for residents to exercise, work, and relax.

AvonDwell

This multi-family project is comprised of 8 one-bedroom units that were prefabricated by Franklin Homes in Russellville, Alabama, transported to Birmingham, and placed on-site.

In addition to being faster and more efficient, modular construction generates significantly less waste than traditional on-site building methods.

Over the course of just a few days, the prefabricated units were placed on-site using a crane. Watch the placement process below.

The units are located just a short walk away from night life, restaurants, and Avondale Park and feature stainless steel appliances, recessed lighting, stackable washer & dryer connections, and parking behind the building.

Lakeview Green

This 150,000 SF mixed-use development includes 118 pet-friendly apartments ranging from studio to three-bedroom units above retail, restaurant, and office space.

Between the main five-story building and an adjacent two-story building lies a public green space complete with a lazy river and koi pond, fire pits, chess, corn hole, an herb garden, and a pool.

The green space provides residents and members of the community a place to walk their pets, socialize outdoors, play games, and exercise.

The main building features a lobby with lounge seating on each floor to give residents a place to work or socialize outside their apartment while enjoying amazing views of Sloss Furnaces and downtown Birmingham.

Additional amenities include covered parking, a fitness center, and a rooftop terrace with TVs and seating overlooking the City Center.

Block 162

This renovation transformed the building’s ground level into retail and restaurant space and created studio, one bedroom, and two bedroom apartments on the upper level.

The main entry stair and hallways feature complementary blue colors to liven the spaces, and the units were designed with neutrals and a variety of textures and patterns.

The units are fully furnished and available for rent through Landing, a membership-based platform that gives its members access to flexible apartment leases within their growing network.

By exposing and cleaning up the existing interior brick and interior beams, the design showcases the history of the building and its sophisticated, timeless style.

-->

YWoodlawn

The YWCA is upgrading the neighborhood block by block and what was once an unsafe neighborhood is now a family-friendly environment for transitional housing.

By salvaging the existing brick and hardwood floors, upgrading to energy efficient HVAC units and windows, installing water efficient plumbing fixtures, planting drought tolerant landscaping and using local materials, CCR achieved a green design.
