CCR is proud to announce that the BJCC Legacy Arena Renovation & Addition received a Merit Award at the 2023 Design Awards presented by the AIA Birmingham Chapter. The project design team included Populous, CCR Architecture & Interiors, Studio 2H Design, CWA Architects, and TRI Architecture.

We are proud to be part of the team that transformed the Legacy Arena into a clean, modern venue for regional and national sports competitions, concerts, and events.

AIA Birmingham hosts Design Awards to recognize excellence in architectural design by architects in the Birmingham chapter. These awards increase awareness of outstanding architecture and honor architects, clients, consultants, and contractors who work together to improve the built environment.

JURY COMMENTS:

“We loved the large impact the renovation had with seemingly few and simple moves. We appreciate the effort that went beyond the typical interior upgrades for this project type. The addition, the glass wall facing the city, the entry plaza, and the integration of this venue into the master plan all significantly enhance the patron experience.”
