The Freedom Rides Museum

Rehabilitation of the Montgomery Greyhound Bus Station for the Alabama Historical Commission

The building was converted into The Freedom Rides Museum and refurbished interiors, new exhibits, and work from sixteen noted artists commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Freedom Rides.

Over the years, the adjacent Federal Courthouse had encroached on the existing bus station building; however, a portion of the original 1950’s structure had been preserved due to its strong associations with the civil rights movement.
