De Nada

An upscale Mexican restaurant rooted in family and tradition

De Nada was envisioned as an authentic and deeply personal Mexican dining experience, shaped through a highly collaborative process with the owner who wanted the space to feel warm, genuine, and rooted in tradition.

The design embraces the existing warehouse character through a refined palette of natural wood, encaustic tile, rattan, steel, and stone, while preserving original elements like salvaged floor tile and wood ceilings to create a rich, layered atmosphere.

Personal touches including framed family photos and a custom hand-painted mural featuring members of the family all contribute to the restaurant’s strong sense of identity and storytelling.

Inspired by the surrounding neighborhood and nearby baseball stadium, an exterior service window serves churros, chips, and drinks on game days, activating the streetscape.

Filled with natural light, cacti, and succulents, the restaurant balances rustic and contemporary design in a celebration of Mexican culture, craftsmanship, and community.
