The Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center in Panama City has been recognized with the Ambassadors “Apple of Our Eye” Award for New Construction by the Bay County Chamber of Commerce.
This award honors projects that enhance the beauty, quality, and vitality of Bay County through thoughtful design and meaningful community impact.
CCR Architecture & Interiors worked closely with the City of Panama City to design the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center as a welcoming, inclusive space for residents of all ages. The facility was envisioned as a hub for recreation, community gatherings, and youth engagement, providing a place where residents can connect, learn, and stay active in the heart of the city.
The award was presented during the Chamber’s First Friday event on March 6, 2026. The recognition was accepted on behalf of the City of Panama City by Commissioner Janice Lucas, along with Parks, Culture and Recreation Director Keith Meyerl and MLK Jr. Recreation Center Manager Javien Elliott.
CCR Architecture & Interiors is honored to have partnered with the City of Panama City on this impactful project and congratulates the City, its staff, and the many community members who helped bring the vision for the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center to life.
