Alabama Aerospace and Aviation High School (AAHS) breaks ground at Bessemer Airport

Alabama Aerospace and Aviation High School (AAHS) broke ground on its new campus at the EKY Bessemer Airport.

AAHS is Alabama’s first aviation-focused, free public charter school dedicated to preparing its students for the aerospace and aviation industries through a unique, career-focused curriculum, an advanced STEM education, and an intentionally diverse school community.

“Today’s groundbreaking is just the beginning; the first phase of a longstanding relationship with the Bessemer Airport, the City of Bessemer and the greater community.

The sky is no longer the limit.”

Ruben Morris, Founder and CEO, Alabama Aviation and Aerospace High School

CCR helped renovate a temporary space (pictured below) for the school to operate in Bessemer as they awaited the construction of their permanent location.

The new state-of-the-art facility, located on 3.6 acres near the Bessemer Airport, will serve the 400+ AAHS students and include two large classroom buildings, office space, a lunch room, a locker room and court building, and a full football field.
