Open Position: Architectural Associate
Details: Full-Time, Exempt
Working Hours: 40 hours weekly during office hours, 8am-5pm Monday-Friday
Location: On-Site in Birmingham, Alabama

CCR Architecture & Interiors is seeking an experienced Architectural Associate to join our collaborative design team. This role offers the opportunity to assist on projects from concept through construction while working with experienced architects, interior designers, and other design professionals to create thoughtful, high-quality environments that benefit our clients and communities. Job Duties
Architectural Associates will support senior staff with the design, preparation, and review of drawings, specifications, and construction documents. Our practice embraces a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary approach; as a result, Architectural Associates are expected to contribute to both interior and architectural aspects of projects. This role requires managing multiple projects with strong attention to detail and time management, making critical design decisions, and exercising sound discretion and judgment. A successful Architectural Associate demonstrates initiative, strong technical competency, effective communication, and professional curiosity. Architectural Associates should be able to perform the following duties:

• Assist with the creation of design solutions that are creative, functional, and code-compliant
• Independently execute complex architectural assignments and collaborate with multidisciplinary groups
• Coordinate with team members, engineers, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies
• Collaborate on architectural projects through all phases of design and construction:
  • Assist with preparing construction documents and specifications
  • Help perform site visits, construction administration, punch lists, and field observations
  • Prepare, review, and revise detailed documentation and modeling that is clear, coordinated, and code-compliant

Qualifications

Successful candidates should have the following qualifications, skills, and experience:

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Proficiency in Revit
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
• Professional degree in Architecture
• Three to five years of professional architectural experience
• Familiarity with building codes, construction methods, and project delivery
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines and contribute to project development
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience in commercial design
• Experience in producing graphic visualizations
• Portfolio illustrating previous design work and an understanding of core architectural concepts
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team

Physical Demands and Work Environment
To successfully perform the essential functions of this position, candidates must be able to sit or stand for extended periods, use fine motor skills consistently, navigate active construction sites while following safety requirements, and lift up to fifty pounds.
