Retailer opens new downtown HQ on Morris Avenue

Wedding dress design company heidi elnora officially opened its new headquarters on Morris Avenue recently.

Designer Heidi Elnora said the building at 2024 Morris Avenue is now complete, and she recently held a grand opening.

Elnora announced her purchase of the building last fall, and said she would move her wedding dress business, heidi elnora, and boutique, atelier, from Pepper Place to the 8,000-square-foot Morris Avenue property.

Robert Crook of Shannon Waltchack helped facilitate the deal.

The building was built in 1891. Local firms Cohen Carnaggio Reynolds and Stidco Construction handled the architecture and construction of the new space.

Elnora’s wedding dresses are featured in more than 30 boutiques across the world, and she has starred in “Bride by Design” on the TLC network. But she said the company is headquartered in Birmingham instead of New York City because she’s proud of her local roots.

“Birmingham is a part of who I am. I wanted to start the downtown revitalization almost 10 years ago. Now I am so excited to be a part of the energy that is going on downtown,” Elnora previously told the BBJ.

Morris Avenue has been the focus of several other announcements in recent months, including a new townhome development called Row 5.
